- Rkkover, Hyman
- (1900-86)American naval engineer, of Russian origin. Born in Makov, Russia, he was the son of a tailor. He went to the US with his family when he was six. He was commissioned in the US navy; later he studied electrical engineering. During World War II he was in charge of the electrical side of naval shipbuiding. After the war, he conceived the idea of nuclear-powered submarines. He became a vice-admiral.
